Testing spotted of Mahindra Scorpio Facelift

A facelifted Scorpio, with camouflaged front and rear ends, has been spotted by Team-BHPian SMK. A revised front bonnet, refreshed rear end and new alloy wheels could be the various changes on the facelifted Scorpio, which could be the last major makeover for the SUV before the next-gen W105 model arrives.
On the inside, refreshed interiors with a new look for the dashboard and additional features could be the other changes. The facelifted SUV is expected to motor on with three engine options: a 2.2 liter mHawk turbo diesel engine that outputs 120 Bhp-290 Nm, a 2.5 liter m2DiCR turbo diesel motor that outputs 75 Bhp-220 Nm and a 2.6 liter turbo diesel engine that's good for 115 Bhp-280 Nm.
The 2.5 liter and 2.6 liter diesel engines power the EX and Getaway models, while the 2.2 liter motor powers all other variants of the Scorpio. All three engines get a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard while the 6 speed automatic gearbox is offered as an option. The EX variant is aimed at the cab operator segment.
The Scorpio is available in five other variants: LX, SLE, VX, VX Automatic and Getaway. The competition for the Scorpio has been growing steadily. From the likes of the Mahindra XUV500, Renault Duster and the Ford EcoSport, the SUV segment in India is getting crowded.
With the impending launch of the Nissan Terrano, competition only promises to get stiffer. With these developments, the Scorpio could come under increasing pressure in the coming months. A facelift for this indigenously developed  SUV might just be what the doctor ordered, as a measure to boost both desirability and sales.
