Ford Motors, which recently came into the limelight for investing a large sum of money in the Indian auto market, is associated with the launch of many Cars in the country. In order to make it big like other brands such as Maruti, Hyundai and Tata Motors, the American auto giant has planned to launch the new version of its Ford Figo in the Indian market. This launch is not only considered as an addition in Ford’s car line-up, but also a ray of hope for the company to sustain in this competitive market.
With this belief in mind, the company launched the improved version of its existing Ford Figo in the year 2011. At the time of its launch, the company structured its new Ford Figo price in India between Rs. 3.7 lacs and Rs. 5.72 lacs. Presently, there are eight variants of this small car available in the Indian market. Out of these, four are petrol variants and four are diesel powered. The petrol variants are powered by a 16V, DOHC engine, which has maximum displacement of 1196 cc. As per power output is concerned, the petrol variants of Ford Figo generate maximum output of 70.03 hp at 6250 rpm and peak torque of 102 Nm at 4000 rpm.
On the other hand, the diesel variants of Ford Figo in India are powered by an 8V, SOHC engine, which has displacement of 1399 cc. Owing to such an engine configuration, the diesel variants of Figo boasts of maximum power output of 68.05 hp at 4000 rpm and peak torque of 160 Nm at 2000 rpm.
The variants of Ford Figo deliver a decent on-road drive as this small car comes fitted with various advancements regarding the suspension and transmission. In the name of suspension, the variants of Figo come fitted with Independent McPherson Strut with dual path mounts at the front end. Similarly, advancement in the rear side includes semi-independent twist beam and coil springs suspension system.
In order to stand against the other compact cars in the Indian market, Ford Figo has been provided with a unique design. The new Ford Figo in India has gone through drastic change in terms of its appearance. At the front portion, the new compact car sports a big head light cluster, which enhances its looks. The upper grille of the Figo is kept little slim and it consists of the centrally placed company’s logo.
Opposite to that is the lower grille which has been kept very large and aggressive. Owing to these features, the front part of the Figo looks very curvaceous and attractive. The rear side is also blessed by an attractive design pattern and it consists of many appealing attributes. Features that add to the look of the rear side are vertically stacked tail lights which consist of brake lights, turn indicators and reverse light. Other prominent exterior features of Ford Figo in India are body coloured front & rear bumpers, rear spoiler, LED brake light and many more.
Owing to these highlighting changes in the design of Ford Figo, the compact car has been able to give stiff competition to other popular cars in this segment.
