Audi had stopped showing the old A8 on its Indian website since November 2010 and had started showing an overview of 2011 Audi A8. Now, the day is not far. Audi is going to launch the gorgeous sedan on January 10, 2011. Yes, that’s just a week ahead of today!
2011 Audi A8 went on sale globally in November 2009. And after more than one year, Audi is launching the vehicle now in India. We usually get global vehicles very late, but this is relatively too much late. It is available with 3 gasoline and 2 diesel engines.
Petrol – 3.0L TFSI V6, 4.2L FSI V8 & 6.3L W12, Diesel – 3.0L TDI V6 and 4.2L V8. The technical specifications are as below:-

The car is set to rival the aged Mercedes Benz S-Class, BMW 7-Series & Jaguar XF. The car does not let you look down when talking about luxury. As per the brand image of Audi the car is filled with immense features and luxuries. The signature Audi xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights and high-intensity headlights not only add a distinct look to the vehicle, but also they also improve visibility while using half of the energy of conventional bulbs. This includes the LED headlights with cornering light, country mode, highway mode, intersection mode, city mode.
The A8 also offers an optional driver control system for numerous sub-systems, marketed as MMI (Multi Media Interface) which can recognize handwriting inputs for the phone and navigation system and provide 3D navigation with Google Earth. The front and rear doors of the A8 are equipped with a power door close assist feature. This provides enhanced comfort and convenience when entering and exiting the vehicle. It has got power trunk which lets you open and close the tailgate through a touch of a button and also, the height can be set according to one’s preferences.
The car is equipped with BOSE surround sound system. The fourteen-speaker, 630-watt sound system is individually tailored to the vehicle interior. It is further enhanced by the 2nd generation AudioPilot noise compensation feature, which adjusts volume in response to unwanted road noise, enhancing the listening experience. In the cabin the car is equipped with customizable LED lights which highlight the cabin of the A8 and lets you select the brightness in four distinct interior areas with your choice of ivory, polar or ruby lighting hues. HomeLink universal remote is integrated into the overhead controls which uses a simple three-button system to control garage doors, gates and even lights in your home. Audi will be launching the car with the V6 and V8 petrol and diesel engines only as the current model has not done with W12 engine. Though it can be expected after a few months. Expected prices for v6 engine model is INR 77lakh onwards and INR 95lakhs onwards for V8 engine models. 2011 Audi A8 is really going to create a tough competition for its competitors.
